From the Trenches: Winter 2021
Although we had an exciting start to 2020 with a new WUCA president and our 32nd Annual Midwinter Conference in Key West in early February, little did we know a world wide pandemic would become full blown in March, 2020. Suddenly, the world was turned upside down.
WUCA worked with Governor Ever’s office to keep our essential sewer, water and utility construction industry open. We accepted the challenge of continuing to perform work essential to continued critical infrastructure viability as requested by the US Department of Homeland Security.
Safety and Insurance Committee meetings were transitioned to virtual meetings. These monthly meetings are now conducted in person and virtually. Our golf outing was a great success. The traditional Make-A-Wish Fundraiser was held by a general appeal for contributions. WUCA members donated generously again.
Hopefully, 2021 will eventually bring back some normalcy to our lives.
