PRESENTS
Trench Rescue Safety Training
for the benefit of volunteer and full-time firefighters and construction tradespeople
The ever-increasing demand for new construction in "rural" areas has presented a serious problem for fire/rescue departments. Most departments have had extensive training in "normal" fire fighting and associated rescues but have never been exposed to the engulfment and entrapment hazards that are a part of a trench cave-in situation.
Trench Rescue presents hazards, that most departments have not been exposed to, which place the department members in jeopardy along with the person(s) who are involved in the trench cave-in.
Trench Rescue classes are scheduled "on-site" in your area using you equipment, personnel and local suppliers. The classes are 2-1/2 days --including hands-on, safe rescue scenarios--utilizing your incident command procedures. The 20-hours will include competent person refresher, trench protective systems, rescue team procedures, and respiratory awareness and also includes a 4-hour Confined Space Awareness Class.
| This class, conducted in your community, will give participants classroom knowledge and hands-on training in "Trench Rescue" Procedures. |
The cost of training is $210 per person, which includes training materials and break. The course is approved by the Dept. of Commerce for 4 hours of continuos education credit for plumbers. The class is limited to 25 people, 15 minimum.
